3.1 (5 marks) The management of a company with branches in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban wants to determine whether employee job satisfaction differs across the three branches. The preliminary analysis of the data (using IBM SPSS Statistics) has revealed that the assumptions of normality, homogeneity of variances and independence of observation have all been violated.

3.2 An organisational development (OD) specialist designed and implemented a training programme for 200 randomly selected employees of a company as part of a turnaround strategy. The OD specialist measured the productivity of the 200 employees (on a continuous scale) on three occasions: before the training, during the training and 6-months after the training. Assume that parametric assumptions were met and that there was no participant attrition during the period of the intervention.

3.3 As a prospective fast food franchisee, you want to establish empirically whether there is an association between an individuals residence in one of the three largest South African cities and his or her preference for a fast food Chain.
