Statistics (data provided by GSS). Attepting to run a chi square test. I have cut and pasted information and my question below.

I did all the calculations. My p value is 0.96 (rounded) which is greater than 0.05 so null is accepted

but then

my chi-square tabulation is 0.6297 which is less than critical value of 9.48 so null is rejected.

what's wrong? this is with a degree of freedom of 4 as i have three rows of each.
