Question: Step 1: FIRST - complete the team worksheet provided separately. - this is to be completed, handwritten preferably, via discussion with your teammates, point form

Step 1:
FIRST - complete the team worksheet provided separately.
- this is to be completed, handwritten preferably, via discussion with your teammates, point form is fine, and should reflect your OWN thoughts ONLY - this is an informal discussion. Select ONE TEAM MEMBER to take charge of writing this up while you are having a discussion to complete this.
- you will be submitting this with the completed formal Team Development Assignment, in the Appendix of your paper, photos embedded on a Word Doc are OK
Step 2: This Step 2 / section should be 3-5 pages MAX.
After you have completed the Team Worksheet, Step 1 [above]:
You are to find and cite at least 3 academically credible, peer reviewed sources in addition to your text [another textbook is not a valid reference/resource].
Determine, from your readings and research [which means in-text citations and corresponding References are required] and write to demonstrate your understanding of what it means to be, both, a
- High-Performing, Value-Added, Self-Managed, Work Team [HPVASMWT], and a
- High-Performing, Value-Added, Self Directed, Team Member.
These are 2 separate, but interconnected, elements which are to be included in this part of your paper. These need to be discussed as 2 separate items.
These will define the set of characteristics your team and each team member should strive for during this course and transferable to your entire program.
Things to talk about could include [but are not limited to] the following:
Strategies to navigate through Team Development stages;
What enhances or detracts from efficient and effective team decision making?
What is the relevance of team cohesiveness? ...and does it, by itself, guarantee high performance? [why / why not/how?]
How can teams ensure an enhanced high level of functioning?
Given courses are currently being delivered on-line, and your teamwork is virtual, please address unique elements brought about by this.
Ultimately, and cumulatively, what defines or characterizes, a HPVASMWTeam and concomitant HPVASMWT members?
Step 3: This Step / section should be 2-3 pages.
Based on what you wrote about in Step 2
Prepare a Team Contract [charter] indicating what it is your Team and Team Members need to do to achieve becoming both a HPVASMWT, and High-Performing Value-Added Team Members.
These need to include what you and your group agree to regarding:
- how you will act, adjust and accommodate to diverse types of people, behaviours, and situations - make conscious and deliberate choices [know why, when, what, and how]
- EXPLICIT BEHAVIOURAL EXPECTATIONS.
----- These need to enable and ensure individual and team accountability and responsibility
----- Once you have agreed and signed this document YOU ARE BOUND BY IT for the rest of the term.
Step 4:
Based on what you identified in Step 3
LIST and EXPLAIN 8 explicit performance standards/criteria/objectives with defining behaviours. [see: Behaviourally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS)]. These are elements which should come directly from your Team Contract. You must be able to identify and explain explicit and specific measurable behaviours. These will be used to assess each other and your team.
4 of these are to assess the Team as a whole
4 of these are to evaluate individual Team Members
You will evaluate each other and the group, on performance standards/criteria/objectives performance standards, during the semester [at least 2x], so these performance standards/criteria/objectives must be behaviourally defined and objectively measurable.
[for example: communicates well is too vague define what kind of communication [modes], how frequently, all other relevant parameters]
LATER IN THE COURSE [you will be told when]
You will provide feedback on individual member and group / team performance, using elements from Step 4. This will include timely required completion of required CATME on-line evaluations.
Your final total TEAMING grade will only be determined at the end of the course; however, each submission will be assessed separately [which may or may not include numerical grading].
