Step 1: From the list below, choose a case study that we have covered this semester.
Step 2: Create a diagram to describe the strategic plan for the product / topic that depicts the international process of the case study you have chosen. Describe the elements that need to be analyzed before entering the market. You will have some knowledge about the companys vision from the analysis of the case study made during the class. You may prepare your diagram in the form of PowerPoint, Word, Tableau, Realtimeboards or another compatible file format to generate this diagram.
Step 3: Part 1: Use the VoiceThread video recorder to prepare a presentation that covers each of the following, specific to the chosen case study:
- Describe the diagram you created in Step 2.
- How does this product sell in the targeted culture? Include all the differences in culture, language, religion and infrastructure that may interfere (if any) in the international plan of expansion. (Week 1)
- Is your target market familiar with your product or service? Consider in your plan investments in consumer education and extra time to position your product. (Week 1)
- Are there any free trade agreements between the importing and exporting countries? (For cases, such as Nestle, you need to consider their headquarters). Is the agreement beneficial for my product? (Week 2)
- What is the best option for your plan? To export from the country of origin of the product, license a company to manufacture in the destination country, or to set up a subsidiary? How is the exchange market between the countries currencies? (Week 3-4)
- What are the impact(s) of that innovation within the context of sustainability? What is the scope of the impact(s)? (Week 5-6)
Step 4: A portion of your grade will be determined by completing a peer evaluation (worth 20 points), which will be factored in to your final project grade.
