Overview

The redesign project will immerse students in an analysis of a contemporary healthcare issue$/$concern from the perspective of health service delivery or health policy. As a team, students will identify and explain types of external and internal data needed for the redesign.

Step $3$: Gather External and Internal Data

External data

$1)$ Conduct a literature review on the type of redesign being planned $$ based on the perspective. Provide three annotated bibliographical references $($using the APA style, $7$th edition and published within the last three years$).$

$2)$ Who will participate in the external steering committee? External partners; Explain why for each.

$3)$ Where can the team go for site visits and why? Consider internal and$/$or external sites that have done a similar redesign or have an effective process in place; look for best practices to see what they are doing $($this is where we get ideas for our own redesigns $$ what others have done that is working well$).$ Present the evidence and cite.

$4)$ What type of internal data will inform the redesign process? Provide the type of data and its data source. Indicate at least two data types $($e$.$g$.,$ patient health records, finance and budget data, focus groups, etc.$).$ Be specific and explain why each one is important.
