Read the article you will analyze for the Textual Analysis essay called "Eat, Pray, Post" by Navneet Alang.

STEP TWO

Create a introduction paragraph:

• • In the first sentence introduce the article and provide Alang's opinion regarding the problem with videos going viral.
  • Pick out three or four main ideas he discusses in his article that support his claim. Create three or four sentences that describe these main ideas. The point of this information is to give the reader a basic idea of his article.
  • Add a sentence that describes how he ends his article.
  • Then conclude your introduction with a thesis statement. What will be analyzed in this essay? Audience? Purpose? Ethos? Pathos? Logos? All of them? Keep in mind that you aren't discussing why videos go viral in our world in the rest of your essay. You aren't analyzing the topic; you are analyzing the rhetorical aspects of the article.

STEP THREE

Create an analysis paragraph for audience:

• • • Identify three different audience groups for this particular topic. Who would be most interested in such aspects of the topic like 1. social media, 2. viral culture, 3. the making and producing of videos, 4. Westernization and spread of American values? (These questions are meant to help you think about various audience groups.)
    • For each audience group, answer the following three questions: What are their interests in this topic? What do they already know about the topic? What would they like to know more about?
    • For each audience group, provide a direct quote from the article that supports that audience group in some way.
