Stimulus Sensitivity Testing 1. Use the ink pad and the grid stamp to stamp the grid on the back of the test subject's hand, the palm of the hand, and the inside of the forearm. 2. The test subject sits with eyes closed and the stamped hand motionless on a desk or table with the palm facedown. Begin with the grid on the back of the hand. 3. In one quadrant of the grid, gently touch each space with the medical monofilament. The monofilament should be held by its paper handle and touched lightly to a space on the test subject's skin. The test subject reports whether they feel a stimulus. 4. Record each time a stimulus is felt by the test subject by coloring in the corresponding space on the appropriate grid in the "Observations" section. 5. Repeat this activity, touching the other spaces on the grid, reporting the sensation, and recording the responses.
