Strategic Management

Write one paragraph comment for each post:

1)I am analyzing the company Nike for my project. One of Nike's rewarding method is their rest and recovery plan. This is essentially whenever Nike offers paid time off, paid holidays, and summer hours for their employees. In the text, it mentions that this incentive here would be classified as "providing attractive perks and fringe benefits". These are essentially very good incentives that encourages the current employees to stay and keep earning these benefits because not a lot of other jobs offers this. Not only does it encourages new hires to stay and work for those incentives. Another thing that Nike offers is insurance as well. In the text, this is classified as a "high-powered incentive."

2) FedEx offers various perks and benefits to its employees, such as competitive salary packages, health insurance, retirement plans, employee discounts, and wellness programs. These perks aim to enhance employee satisfaction and well-being. FedEx highlights its achievements and success stories to celebrate the contributions of its employees. This fosters a sense of pride and motivation among the workforce, inspiring them to continue performing at a high level. FedEx focuses on creating a comfortable and productive workplace for its employees. This includes providing modern facilities, ergonomic workstations, and amenities that create a pleasant work environment. FedEx believes in transparent communication and shares relevant information about the company's financial performance, strategy, and market conditions with its employees. This helps employees understand the bigger picture and their role in achieving organizational goals.

3)Leidos is the company that I am analyzing for my project. I prefer this by saying this will all be from personal experience combined with the book. Inviting new ideas from employees is one way the company motivates employees. From personal experience, about 20 minutes of every meeting is spent touching on any idea employees have to boost productivity and efficiency. Multiple process changes have come about from this that have been implemented to boost employee morale. Another motivator that the company uses is transparency(sharing information). This is mainly focused on operational measures and strategies for the procurement area. The company had a less-than-ideal performance in quarterly earnings last quarter which tightened the budget. The part of procurement I am in has seen a 50% increase in procurements from this time last year. As you can imagine, the team is loaded with work. A lot of our meeting time involves what is going on behind the scenes to try and remedy the workload. This motivates employees because it shows us that the management understands what is going on and is actively trying to fix it.
