DISCUSSION QUESTION Given what we have discussed about the skills needed by supervisors, think about a supervisor you have or have had in the past. What skills did that person have that helped you as an employee? What skills did that person lack that would have been helpful to the company and its employees? What did you learn about being a supervisor from this person? Also ask students to make a list of the skills they feel they have to be a good supervisor, and then to make a list of those they need to obtain. Have students write their answers privately, and then discuss their answers as a class.
