Students will also choose a department from the Receiving, Production, or Shipping departments to apply the strategy and create a plan to determine and manage the departments capacity. Explain how the plan and the decisions made using the plan will be strategic. Prepare a memo to the COO briefly explaining the strategy along with the justification of the strategy. You are requesting approval of the strategy. Follow APA style and embed the memo in the body of the paper. This week you are creating a plan to choose a capacity planning strategy for a department within Kibby and Strand to analyze. You're free to choose any of the three departments for your plan. Recommend you have the following sections: Objective, Data, Analysis, and Recommended Capacity Planning Strategy. Keep in mind you are role playing the Production Manager, and your submission will be in memo form to your boss, the COO. Since he / she is your superior you are not writing a directive, but rather you're informing them of your capacity planning strategy for the department you chose.
