Students should research accreditation standards such as those created by the Joint Commission (http://www.jointcommission.org) or state facility licensure rules (a link to Texas' is provided here: https://hhs.texas.gov/doing-business-hhs/provider-portals/health-care-facilities-regulation(Links to an external site.)) to get a basic understanding of requirements and any variations among them. Students should make up a list of three or four key standards or regulations that interest them to be shared in a class discussion. Using the three to four standards or regulations from the analysis of web resources section chosen, develop a mock survey plan to assess the readiness of your facility to meet the selected standards/regulations. List the questions (at least 6). What would you look for in documentation, what would you ask personnel (physicians and/or other staff), how do you know the organization is meeting the standards, and why?
