Fact-Checking Using the SIFT Method

First, use Google or social media to find a Web page/online article that you think might be misinformation or disinformation, based on the definitions in the module (e.g., political viewpoint, health advice, opinion piece, statistic, etc.)

Second, use the four moves of the SIFT Method to investigate the source of information you found.

3. Find Better Coverage
4. Trace Claims, Quotes, and Media to Their Original Context

Third, explain please what you did, and what you found. Was the source of information true? Or was it misinformation or disinformation? How did you determine this?
