Problem Statement: - Kikeh is an offshore platform feeding natural gas through 137 km deep water pipeline at 141MMSCFD, 230 barg and 30 oC to Labuan Gas Terminal.Labuan Gas Terminal, supplies PETRONAS METHANOL LABUAN-2 (PML-2) with natural gas at 60 barg. The high pressure drop causes the gas to cool down to -22 oC and hydrates (methane crystals) would form inside the piping. The hydrates can build up and eventually plug the pipeline over a period of time. This leads to pressurization of pipe upstream and subsequently a plant shutdown. High cooling rate can cause the pipeline material failure from brittleness.Provide a solution for this problem.
