Motivation is important in the organization to boost morale among employees in order to achieve their goals. Motivated employees help the organization to become more success because motivated employees are consistently looking forward to improve their work performance (Ali et al, 2019). The outcome from a motivated employee will produce high level of productivity since they are enjoying their work. Therefore, they feel satisfied in the workplace which resulted in lower absenteeism and reducing turnover rate. It is not an easy task especially for the managers to retain highly motivated employees within the organization as they are the valuable assets of the organization to achieve success in the future (Kreisman, 2019). Employees are the human capital to the organizations, and performance of them within an organization which can lead to organizational prosperity or failure (Salleh et al., 2018). Employee performance is defined as whether an individual executes their job duties and responsibilities well. Many organizations evaluate their employee's performance on a yearly or quarterly premise to characterize specific regions that need improvement. Performance is a basic consider hierarchical achievement.

As performance of employees is significant for organizations, the management should consider improving performance of workers in their companies by encouraging them to do their tasks and duties as efficiently and effectively as possible. Employees are considered as the most important resource, and how an organization manages the employee to remain motivated is known to be the main challenging task. Motivation as a significant build is a craving to fulfil a specific need and is a focal point of support at work. Subsequently, motivation employees satisfactorily is a test as it has the stuff to characterize worker fulfillment at work. In this study we examine the relationship between motivation and employee performance in food industry. The dependent variable in this study is employees performance. The independent variables are employees performance in training, competition, leadership and work environment. A correlation research design was used in this study.

Motivation can be described as a management process that enables employees to perform well for the success of the company by supporting them with their motives that are focused on their basic needs. The fluctuation of employee motivation depends on both organizational and managerial actions as well as on individual personality characteristics and perceptions of the specialist. Motivation is the cycle that invigorates execution, which results in invigorating individuals to make an activity and accomplish an ideal execution. It is hence the interaction of making employees act by reflecting on their way of behaving, keeping up with the advancement of conduct, and coordinating the way of behaving. In this way, motivation is the inward feeling that causes workers to feel empowered to act in unambiguous a way of behaving.

Employee motivation is vital as it serves to improve employee's performance and empowers the executives to achieve the association's ideal targets. Manager ought to make a positive workplace and guarantee that the works and endeavors of a employees are perceived and esteemed. It is important that a manager knows the primary needs of workers to manage and address them toward great job performance in service firms. When their needs are met, the employees are likely to take responsibility for their performance and thus they will perform well to achieve their organizations goals.
