The goal of this assignment is to determine your ability to analyize a brief clip of a group therapy session and identify group dynamics and theoretical concepts we have covered throughout this course.

Instructions:

Watch each of these video clips below. Feel free to watch them as many times as you please. Each is very short. Then answer the questions below for each video.

Questions:

1. What type of group is depicted in the video clip? Include type of group, setting, and topics or issues discussed.

2. What are the clients like? Include client demographics, and if they are voluntary/involuntary or motivated/unmotivatedto participate.

3. What is the style or approach used by the group facilitator? How effective are they? Does thefacilitatorhelp the group or limit the groups progress?

4. If you were assigned to lead this group for the next session what approach or theory would you use and why. Please be specific and elaborate on why youchoose a particular theory.

5. Would you make any changes to the group? Why or why not?
