Summary: This assignment is designed to help teach students how to determine a key strategic public relations outcome. The outcome will be to build key strategic relationships to achieve a specific personal goal. From the in-class activity, students will complete one or more outcome cards, identifying the desired outcome, obstacles faced to achieve it and how they will measure progress towards or achievement of the desired outcome in terms of changes to key relationships required. Once the Outcome Card(s) are filled in, students will provide a rationale explaining why the strategic obstacles may stop them from achieving its desired outcome with consideration of the likely impact. A short rationale will explain why building the key relationships identified will help overcome the specific obstacle(s) to achieving the goal. Time in breakout groups will be provided in class to start working on the assignment. The instructor will be available via email to answer questions and provide feedback before the assignment must be handed in.
