1. The storeroom of the University receives incoming goods accompanied by a Goods Inward Note from suppliers. The stores person issues an item to a department upon receipt of a Requisition for the item. The purchasing department needs to know which items are below their minimum stock level and which need to be re-ordered. The store manager sends details of stock issues and stock receipts to the stock control department that adjusts the stock records for the items in question. When an item falls below a certain specified minimum stock level the store manager writes out a re-order request. This gives details of the stock item such as item number, re-order quantity, supplier reference number and supplier name. The re-order request is sent to the purchasing department which generates a purchase order. Details of the supplier are obtained from a supplier name and address list. The purchase order is sent to the supplier. At the end of each month the stores manager creates a stock report that lists those items which have not moved during the last six months.
