Taking a class online is not easy for most people. It requires a much higher level of self-discipline and motivation. And as you are required to take 100% responsibility for your own learning it can often be more work than learning in the classroom. Studies show that the vast majority of the population need continual supervision to stay on track and are not able to thrive unsupervised. The same skills you would use to be successful in this class (or any online) will be essential in most career paths. For example, an entrepreneur, a commission sales person, and a manager will not have a boss standing over them to ensure they are working. Chapter 11 discusses leadership and its importance in sales management. A quality leader does not need someone kicking them forward. For our last discussion, I would like the class to discuss how to be successful in self-learning environment (i.e. Online or distance education) will help you in your future careers.
