Task 1 - Metasploit intro to exploitation

Pre-lab configuration

1) Make sure you have a working Linux box and your Metasploitable box is running as well.

2) Check your internet connection, you can either use NAT-Network or Host-Only mode for this lab.

3) Update your Linux box.

Lab:

1) Follow the two lectures on Metasploit to perform this lab.

2) Document attacker machine and target machine's IP addresses (take screenshot) (3 marks)

3) Scan your network to find the Metasploitable machine (take screenshot)

4) Find out all the relevant port numbers (take screenshot) (3 marks)

5) Find more information on FTP ports (take screenshot) (3 marks)

6) Use Metasploit to exploit the FTP port using Exploit technique 1 (take screenshot) (3 Marks)

7) Use Metasploit to exploit the FTP port using Exploit technique 2 (take screenshot) (3 Marks)
