Task 2: Supporting Oliver

You have been asked to work with Oliver during his reading and writing lessons, as his NAPLAN results indicate he is working below stage expectations. Your observations and feedback will contribute to the Learning Support Team's knowledge and understanding of Oliver's needs. In two weeks, there will be a review of his Individualised Learning Plan.

1. Briefly explain what an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) is, and how it is developed. Include some of the main sections or topics that will be in the plan and describe who might be involved in the development of the plan?

NB: The ILP might be known by other names such as "Personalised learning and support plan" or an "Individual education plan" (IEP).

2. Outline how an SLSO might be involved in the implementation and monitoring of an ILP?

3. Briefly explain the importance of providing feedback about Oliver to the Learning Support Team?

4. Looking at Oliver's current profile information, identify at least 3barriers that could be impacting on his literacy skills, that you need to consider?

5. Identify 3support strategies you could put in place to support Oliver's skill development?

6. Briefly explain how you would ensure that you work with Oliver using an inclusive approach?
