Task $4$: Licensing

Imagine you joined a company that makes a language learning app. In addition to selling the app itself,

the company would like to allow users to program plugins $($e$.$g$.$ adding support for scripts with complicated

layout in order to cover additional languages$),$ and it would like to provide curated language data files for

in$-$app purchase.

$1.$ By examining the license files provided as an archive $($licenses$.$zip$),$ explain for each license what

type of restrictions you would impose on users of your app by attaching the license to the downloadable

language data files. Then, choose the licenses for the language data files which you would expect to

provide the best chances for the app to become a success. Explain your reasoning in $12$ sentences.

$2.$ In order to be able to program plugins, users will need access to $($parts of$)$ the source code for your

app. How would you try to go about releasing and licensing the source code, if you want to make

sure that users cannot just copy, rebrand and resell your app? It is sufficient to consider the licenses

discussed in the lecture, but you are free to research and choose other licenses as well.
