Task Description (100 Marks) A fire inspection was completed by one of your colleagues on a renovated multi-story office building and the form was forwarded to you for immediate action. The inspection report revealed several violations. You have been assigned to critical analysis, evaluate and act upon the information gathered during the inspection, taking an action against all violations found in the building in alignment with NFPA codes and standards. The Fire Inspection Form is attached in APPENDIX A. Task 1 Write an inspection report comprising the following: Introduction an introduction that sets the scene by stating clear aims and objectives. A detailed description of FIVE significant fire hazard/fire safety deficiency or non- compliances in the building and standard/code violated. This should include proposals to further control the hazard(s), reduce risks outcome and recommendations from NFPA 101. Also, you must give justification of why such changes must be implemented before the building becomes occupied. Conclusions which summarises the main issues identified together with justified recommendations for improvement. You need to identify a minimum of TEN different fire hazards (see APPENDIX B: Fire Risk Assessment Form), estimate the level of the risk using 5 x 5 Matrix if the risk value calculated from the matrix method is not at the ALARP level and propose suitable control measures Students must, sign, and date the APPENDIX A: Fire Inspection Form after assessing all the Fire Code Violations.
