See above roadmap figure for drivers of cloud-based service offerings. Students will be asked to study several infamous cloud security breaches and look for parallels/patterns of risk. Where were the points of failure? Breakdown both the technical oversights and the business/managerial failures. Throughout this semester we have talked about how cloud computing has lowered the barriers of entry for several different markets - analyze the market demand behind these cloud service offerings and explain the drive toward cloud adoption. Much of these oversights can be attributed toward poor business process and poor understanding of the technology itself. As a business analyst, what are your priorities to prevent such oversight? How would you manage cloud-enabled technologies for an enterprise? Do any strategies or frameworks come to mind? Students will step into the role of a business information analyst and create a cloud readiness plan detailing the necessary actions, processes, trainings, and behaviors necessary to effectively adopt and manage cloud-enabled solutions.
