Part 1 of 2:

Create three different visualizations using Tableau for the life expectancy data in the Week 4 folder. Create a dashboard in Tableau and upload it to Tableau Public. In your dashboard, include the following elements: (5 points)

the three visualizations;

two or three filters;

three annotations;

descriptive headings, captions, labels, etc.

Part 2 of 2:

Create a Visualization Type x Tool matrix based on five types of visualizations of your choice across four tools and answer the following questions: (10 points)

- For each type of visualization, can it be created in RAW, Tableau, ggplot and Python Matplotlib? (2 points)

- What visual mappings can be meaningfully applied in each type of visualization? (2 points)

- What type of data is required for each type of visualization? (Hint: the Task by Data Type Taxonomy by Shneiderman) (3 points)

- Provide two hypothetical questions that could be answered with each type of visualization. (For example, what questions could a bar chart help us to answer: how bad was the inflation in the last quarter compared to the same time last year?) (3 points)

Format:

A written report that includes screenshots of the dashboard and, whenever possible, the link to the dashboard on Tableau Public (part 1) and the matrix with all questions answered (part 2).

If you encounter errors with Tableau Public, it will be sufficient to include screenshots of visualizations and add a footnote to indicate the Tableau Public error.
