Technology now provides us with powerful tools for generating a wide variety of different graphs. This means anyone and everyone can easily draw a graph. Graphs are often made misleading for advertising or political purposes, and sometimes even by accident. Regardless, as an informed consumer, in addition to reading and interpreting a graph, analyzing a graph to determine whether it objectively depicts data is an important skill to have.

    • You can look for graphs in online news articles, magazines, blogs, etc.
    • Do not post a picture from a textbook or a website that uses an example to explain a good or a bad graph. The objective is for you to identify a good or bad graph that you might come across in everyday life.
