unknown to you. Your objective is to develop innovative experimental designs and
methodologies for the comparative determination of the properties of these three types of
cement. You are expected to leverage your imagination and engineering expertise/knowhow in
designing these experiments. In this project context, your tasks include:
(i) Comparative Determination of Fineness of Cements
(ii) Comparative Determination of the Main Components of Cements
(iii) Comparative Determination of Their Resistance to Sulfate
Your deliverable will consist of reporting on the experiments or methodologies that you
develop, without relying on standard tests. For example, avoid presenting
conventional/standard methods such as Blaine or laser diffraction analysis for determination
of fineness, as these will not earn points. Instead, focus on proposing novel and feasible
experimental methods and methodologies for the comparative analysis of the three cements.
This project presents an opportunity for you to showcase your creativity, problem-solving skills,
and ability to devise effective experimental procedures in the field of cement analysis. Your
proposed experiments should be robust, scientifically sound, and capable of providing
meaningful insights into the comparative properties of the cements provided.
In the report, please provide each detail of the experimental methods and methodologies you
developed. You can benefit from the available standards regarding the format of the report.
As part of this term project, it is expected to be carried out with a minimum of three and a
maximum of five people in a group. Please inform the assistant of the course of your group
details by 08.04.2024. For those who cannot form a group, a group will be arranged.
