And the data (used in this problem) are described in Table 3.4 in the text (or simply use the command describe in STATA).

Note that the information for vote in this data set is not actually in %, but a fraction indicating percent.For simplicity in interpreting the results, I suggest transforming the vote variable into % before doing the problem.This new variable can be named vote_percent and generated in STATA as follows:

gen vote_percent=vote*100

Then use the new variable, vote_percent, in this problem.

How to find the STATA on Mac (which I have not find in the store) and how to use that ,if I cannot download STATA, can I also use excel to do whole questions or it has to use STATA?
