The accounting profession in Ghana and the rest of the world, functions to safeguard the funds of individuals, businesses and the public sector. There are public institutions established to regulate the auditing, accounting and taxation profession through licensing, regulatory policies, education among others. As an accountant in Ghana, there are a number of accounting related issues in the public sector that are of concern. Besides, there is also the problem of appropriate linkage between academics and accounting industry.
