• The answer for this problem I submitted to my professor was incomplete. He said the problem has four questions but I only completed part ofthe first one (x-intercept). Please help? i submitted:

Solve Problem

y = x³- x

My answer

y = x³- x

Or y = x(x² - 1)

= x(x - 1)(x + 1) {since a² - b² = (a + b)(a - b)}

Put y = 0

x(x - 1)(x + 1) = 0

here x = 0, x - 1 = 0 and x + 1 = 0

Or x = 0, x = 1 and x = -1

Thus, x = 0, -1 and 1
