THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM is 22.6 kW, Please do not post a solution if you don't get this answer...
Electricity is more expensive during the day because demand is higher relative to generating capacity. In an effort to make money, you will use cheap electrical energy during the night to compress air into a tank. During the day you will run that stored air through a turbine and make electrical energy to sell back to the electrical company when process are higher. You need to know how large of a compressor (in kW) will be needed to fill an insulated 104 m3 tank in 10 hours using ambient air (298K and 1 bar). You may assume the air inside the tank stays very close to 460 K throughout this process, which starts at pressure 1 bar, and ends at 4.5 bar after 10 hours of filling. Assume the compressor is perfectly efficient. Assume air is an ideal gas with constant CP/R =3.5.
