The assigned reading, The Decision-Making Process, really challenged me to think critically about my future. There are so many things to consider when making the decision to pursue a certain career and commit to an industry. One of the biggest things that I considered regarding know yourself was to really know and understand my personality and my blind spots. Having self-awareness is extremely important in order to build confidence and be successful. If you know your strengths and weaknesses, you are able to really dedicate yourself to your career by capitalizing on your strengths and developing your weakness. This also ties into my takeaway from know the world of work. Work is a very diverse term that takes on many different connotations. When pursuing a career/industry it is extremely important to understand the landscape of the industry. Knowing the landscape of an industry can help you prepare and apply your strengths and weaknesses to that industry. Being a subject matter expert helps with being competitive in any industry.
