American Law is derived from several sources and is comprised of federal law - the laws of the United States, and the laws of the 50 states. Your assignment:

1. Explain the historical background of the American Legal System, providing specific examples. Provide explanations of Common Law and remedies within this historical context.
2. Describe the various sources of American laws. For each source, provide examples of laws that arise from that source.
3. Explain the roles of the Federal and State Court systems in the application of American Law. Detail each of the three levels of the court system.
4. Extra Five Points: Include a screenshot from the California Court website that provides an overview of the three levels of the California state court system. Extra credit will not be awarded to late submissions of this assignment.
