Question:
The Bank of Canada is planning to redesign the $5 bill. To replace Sir Wilfrid Laurier (who has been featured on the bill since 1972), a shortlist of eight candidates was developed by an independent advisory board. To understand how these candidates are viewed by the Canadian public, the Angus Reid Institute conducted a nationally representative sample of 1578 Canadians in November 2020.
Each respondent was asked to identify two of the eight candidates that they would most like to see on the $5 bill. You will construct a confidence interval to identify the true proportion of Canadians who would select Isapo - muxika (Crowfoot) as one of their top two choices (conducted in steps throughout this problem). The table below shows the percentage of respondents in the sample who said that Isapo - muxika would be one of their top two choices (Yes) and said that Isapo - muxika would not be one of their top two choices (No).
