Question:
The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (www.bfro.net) maintains a database of bigfoot/sasquatch sightings and related reports. Sadly, my home state of Illinois hasn’t had a reported sighting since April of 2018 (hopefully Idaho has more Sasquatch sightings. The last one was in 2021, so that bodes well!) According to the BFRO database as of December 2022 the mean number of reports per county in the state of Idaho is 2.32 (standard deviation = 3.58). Here are the z-scores for a few specific counties:
Valley County: z = +2.98 Bannock County: z = -0.09 Kootenai County: z = +1.03
a. Which of these three counties is most representative of the typical county in Idaho in terms of the number of bigfoot reports? Why?
b. How many reports have there been in Valley County?
