The budget activity (BA) is two-digit code that identifies the types of funds used in the execution of a program. The budget project activity code (BPAC) is a six-digit alphanumeric code that identifies a classification below appropriation level for major budget programs and activities. The first two positions identify the budget program; the last four characters correspond to the project number. The program element code (PEC) is a unique six-character code that defines a combination of personnel, equipment, and facilities that constitutes a specific capability or support activity. The responsibility center/cost center (RCCC) is a six-digit code that associates costs with a MAJCOM (the first two digits) and a specific function (the last four digits). The RCCC is coupled with the element of expense/investment code (EEIC), a five-character code that identifies the kinds of costs associated with the particular function or task identified by the RCCC.
