Activity 1: Program evaluation and review technique (PERT) Refer to the schedule created in your previous project management courses and adopted by your team in WP1. From this schedule, collect 10-15 high-level milestones on the project critical path. Brainstorm within your team to assign optimistic, most likely, and pessimistic dates for each activity. Use the PERT calculation to find the te for each critical path activity. Sum all critical path activity to find the overall project te. Summarize in a table. Activity 2: Project variance reporting Take the table completed in Activity 1, and then proceed to calculate the variance for each critical path activity. Use all critical path activity variances to find the project standard deviations. Add this calculation to the table created in Activity 1. Activity 3: Calculate probability Now that you have the project te and the project standard deviation, answer the following questions: What is the probability of achieving your to date? What date corresponds to a 95% probability? If the airport requests to reduce your to date by 1 week, what is the probability of achievement? What is the probability of achieving a 2-week reduction? Activity 4: Qualitative risk analysis. Take the table and solutions from Activities 1, 2, and 3 and combine in a minimum two page document. Submit the document as a report to the client explaining schedule probability. Include a brief description of the rationale behind your quantitative risk analysis.
