The course project involves integrating the weekly lessons in a comprehensive ethical case study. Within the project, students take on the role of an external ethics consultant or internal ethics committee member. A similar perspective may need to be taken by a government official, policymaker, or affected$/$interested party $($AIP$).$ Students will evaluate a live, real$-$world case study of their choice to demonstrate their comprehension of the Big$-3$ ethical theories and business strategies for ethical decision$-$making.

The project includes both written and video$-$recorded components to imitate the two primary methods of delivering ethical perspectives in a professional setting. The project is a research report with elements of business briefings. This format conforms to the dual$-$nature role of sustainability professionals who often straddle academic and nonacademic settings. While the first half of the report will be academic in nature$-$to mimic the work of an environmentalist or an economist$-$the video recording translates the student's perspective for a more general workforce audience, as if they were speaking to a manager or coworker, and the second half of this assignment is more practical than theoretical, as a business setting requires.
