The data set for this lab, consists of a list of 40 college textbooks that are printed and sold in

bound form (hardcover/paperback) and loose-leaf along with the cost of each. This is an apple to

apple list. So if the bound version came with an access code/subscription the loose-leaf does as

well. This was to see if loose-leaf publications are actually cheaper than bound books.

The data file is T-test for module 8/9. Link to data set:

The variable name of interest and labels are as follows:

Bound: in dollars

Loose-leaf in dollars

StatCrunch Components

You will need a boxplot, histogram and QQ plot to access normality for each variable

You will need to run a Shapiro-Wilk normality test to access normality

You need to conduct descriptive statistics for

each variable

. Report the sample

size, mean, median, mode and standard deviation.

You will conduct a two-sample t-test to test the hypothesis that there is a

difference in the cost of bound and loose-leaf version of the same textbook.
