THE DECISION Having gathered the preliminary data, George began thinking about the report. He was not certain what he should recommend. On the one hand, export sales were growing with little effort and expense on the company's part. Possibly with a little more effort, sales could be increased without going "full speed ahead" into exporting. On the other hand, the temmous nature of the company's relationship with its exporters and importers suggested that some action should be taken. Also, the time appeared to be right for a more aggressive assault on the export market. George knew that the senior management group was expecting a report that contained specific recommendations, including whether the Tanunda Winery should aggressively enter the export market, and, if so, how many markets to enter. The group would so expect to receive details of the proposed strategy George would pursue for the next three years in the export arca. With these thoughts in mind, George began writing the report. ****
