iii) When managing these devices, the operating system uses polling and interrupts as the mechanisms. Normally, the operating system uses polling to manage the character devices while using interrupt to manage the block devices. Explain what will happen to the computer systems performance and efficiency if the opposite techniques are being used by the operating system. (6 marks)
