The entire O.J. case, from the initial reponse, ensuing investigation, and prosecution, was an absolute mess. Chain of custody was basically non-existent, with there being little in terms of designated positions for the different stages of collection, and with evidence frequently going missing, being contaminated, or being forgotten. A large part of the pool of evidence were the blood samples collected from the scene and from Simpson's vehicle - they were mishandled during collection and during lab testing, leading the Defense to question if they were tampered with and if they were even the same samples taken from the scene. Poor handling of the evidence extended into the trial as it led to examinations and testimonies all contradicting one another, hurting the Prosecution's credibility. Respond to this post
