THE field unit weightThe soil was cohesion$-$less and free$-$running and left my hands feeling dry. In colour, it comprised on two different colours $($yellow and grey$)$ with yellow being dominant. The soil grain structure predominantly consisted of sand sized particles with about $20$ to $25\%$ of the sample consisting of fine invisible sized particles. When water was added to the sample, the fine grained component became highly plastic and did not expel any water when patted vigorously. The relative density of the soil sample was measured at approximately $45\%$ using the dynamic cone penetrometer device.
