Question:
The first weeks of every new quarter are 'earnings' season for the prior period! If you catch CNBC, FBN, Bloomberg et al, you hear the financial talking heads discussing what company 'X' or 'Y' did for the quarter.
Did it meet, beat, or fail expectations? As a result, did the stock price move following the firm's earning Report (the income statement).
When I invest in a stock (small investments to be sure), I buy expecting to hold it for at least 3 years - otherwise, I'm just a speculator, not an investor. So, one quarter's results don't mean much - to me.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? Take a firm you have an interest in today - or maybe tomorrow, and Check out their earnings for the 4th quarter 2019 and year (2019). Were they good or bad? If you were investing, would you buy the company's stock TODAY? Why or Why NOT?
