The following data set represents an incident log that includes data from 12 thefts. Information collected on these incidents include:

• EVENTID: 9 digit number used to represent each incident
• MONTH: number used to represent each month in a calendar year (e.g., 1 = January, 2 = February, 3 = March, etc.)
• YEAR: the year that the incident took place
• DOW: number used to represent the day of the week that the incident took place (e.g., 1 = Sunday, 2 = Monday, 3 = Tuesday, etc.)
• IN_OUT: whether the incident took place indoors or outdoors (1 = indoors, 2 = outdoors)
• VALUE: value of the property stolen (expressed in US dollars)
• VALUE_V2: coded version of the variable VALUE (1 = under $50, 2 = $50-$200, 3 = over $200)
• SAFETY: level of safety felt by the victim of the crime (aggregated from a 10-item scale ranging from 1 (not safe) to 5 (very safe))
