The Intel Case from the Fraser & Ormiston textbook will be used throughout the course.
Read Case 1.1 on page 36 of the textbook. Intels 2013 Form 10-K and annual report will be used throughout the course, (link also located in the Week 1 Theme Overview Financial Statements section).
Answer the questions on page 36, and follow the instructions below:
- Provide cover page
- Use Times New Roman, 12 pt font, double-spaced, 1 margins all around
- Highly suggested, use headings/subtitles to respond to each question. (ie. Case 1.1 Question (a), Case 1.1 Question (b), etc.)
- For Question (a) write 1-2 paragraphs
- For Question (b) write a minimum of five (5) bullet points
- For Question (c) write 1-2 paragraphs
- For Question (d) write 2-3 paragraphs
- For Question (e) write 1-2 paragraphs
- Not including the cover page, you should expect to submit a 2-3-page paper.

Using the Form 10-K and annual report, answer the following questions: (a) Describe the type of business in which Intel operates. (b) Read the letters from the CEO and the chairman and discuss any information learned from this letter that might be useful to an analyst. (c) What type of audit opinion was given for the financial statements and the internal financial controls of Intel? Explain the key items discussed in the audit report. (d) Read the Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A). Discuss whether the items that should be addressed in the MD&A are included. Support your answer with examples from the Intel MD&A. (e) After reading the MD&A, discuss the future prospects of Intel. Do you have any concerns? If so, describe those concerns.
