The MIPS processor has been implemented in two different process technologies. In $2004,$ it

had a clock rate of $3\mathrm{.}6$GHz at a voltage of $1\mathrm{.}25$V$.$ On average it consumed $10$W of static power

and $90$W of dynamic power. In $2012,$ the processor had a clock rate of $3\mathrm{.}4$GHz and voltage of

$0\mathrm{.}9$V$.$ On average the new implementation consumed $30$W of static power and $40$W of

dynamic power.
