Theschool district will only extend the school year if they are quiteconfident that more than 50% of district parents will support thedecision. So they conduct a random phone survey of 200 parents andfind that 112 support the decision to extend the school year. Usingthe hypothesis ????0:????=0.5;????????:????>0.5 and ????=0.05 , conduct ahypothesis test to see if the school board should extend the schoolyear. Make sure to write your first and last name on your paper andcomplete each of the following steps:
a. Step One: Identify the type of test, the null and alternativehypotheses (already given), and the significance level. Definepopulation variables and give sample evidence for Ha.
b. Step Two: Check that the three Conditions for a one samplez-test are satisfied; Random Sampling, Independent Trials, andLarge Counts. Provide details and calculations as necessary.
c. Step Three: Calculate the mean and standard deviation of thesampling distribution (assuming the null hypothesis is true), thetest statistic (z score of the sample), and the p-value.
d. Step Four: Conclude whether to reject the null hypothesis orfail to reject the null hypothesis, by comparing the p-value toalpha, the significance level.
