When an organisation is faced with challenges, managers should solve problems creatively. To do this, they set objectives and determine the best course of action (planning), organise the people and resources needed to carry out the plan (organising), influence employees and motivate them to work towards the common goal (leading), and ensure that performance does not deviate from the standard (controlling). The POLC framework therefore provides a very useful way of classifying the different functions of a manager. With this in mind, please discuss the following:
