If they were treated as data, we would classify them as interval data. One of the outcomes of the course is to try to influence your value system, such that the connection and interrelatedness of the incidents begin to be identified. We want to "transform" those separate / discrete incidents into recognized values, such that the values, if treated as data, would be classified as continuous data, in that they run together and cross-influence one another.

I believe that a single international code of the ethics has a positive impact on businesses. In most businesses, globalization has not only affected the political and social lives of individuals but also the economic scale of the business. The world has been reduced into smaller villages which affects the normal functioning of the business under various ethnic groups. In reducing the effects of globalization, there has to be an establishment of single international code of ethics that will play a major role in governing all the business activites that occur in global market for standardization purposes. An International code of ethics entails various guidelines that play a major role in instituting and overseeing the social, environment, and ethical obligations of a company that is operating within the global marketing environments. The use of a single international code of ethics has various importance for all international businesses. Some of these importances are as follows; A single international code of ethics provides a standard ethics code that all companies will have to adhere to when conducting their operations for the purposes of providing standardization and unifom'iity within the business. Ethical issues raised in this case Child safety - The key concern in this case is the safetyr of children who are NOT getting breast milk because their mother is preferring formula milk. Under the utilitarian ethics, decisions are considered to be ethical based on the consequences. For example, does formula milk produce greater public good or it is causing more harm'? Such ethical issues are highly considered in making critical ethical decisions. Shareholder interests - The move to limit marketing of formula products could deprive the shareholder value. In this case, it will raise the issue of how to balance between the interests of the public and that of the shareholders. Relevance of these ethical challenges These are competing interests between what an organization should do and interests of the public. In fact, it raises questions of broad and narrow views of ethical or corporate social responsibility of companies.
