Question:
The primary Market is the market in which new issues of securities are sold to the public via Initial Public Offerings (IPO). IPO is the first sale of stock or an offering to sell by a private company to the investing public a set number of shares of a firm’s stock at a specified price. IPOs are often issued by new public limited companies looking to become publicly traded. In an IPO, the issuer obtains the assistance of an underwriting firm which helps it determine what type of security to issue (common or preferred), the best offering price, and the time to bring it to market.
